Good ghostwriting costs money.
You can go on Fiverr right now and find book ghostwriters for $50. But what kind of quality are you paying for at that price point? Are they native English speakers? How many books have they written?
Can you trust them to deliver?
Quality concerns have intensified with the advent of large language model-based chatbots like ChatGPT. It seems like everyone thinks they can cheaply, easily, and quickly churn out a book in a day, post it on Amazon, and present themselves as a thought leader.
But text generated by ChatGPT is often factually inaccurate and the writing is clunky and stilted.
Worst of all, the results are missing a key element: you.
There are creative ways to approach book writing, but trying to skimp on the ghostwriting costs will increase the likelihood that your ghostwriter won’t have the experience of skill that you need to write your best book. When you work with a professional ghostwriter like me, you're paying for the peace of mind that your book will be written with the highest standards—that it will stand the test of time.
I love helping authors work through their book and get across the finish line on writing their draft.
With coaching clients, we typically meet weekly and I provide feedback and input, guidance and support.
Working with a writing coach is a great option for authors who are adept at writing but need some help on writing the most impactful book possible.
Your book foundation is everything. Having a strong foundation will make or break your book. It could carry you through the writing process; a weak foundation could cause you to get frustrated and put your book aside.
I can help you establish the strongest foundation possible and help set a great roadmap for the writing to come.
If you are interested in traditionally publishing your book, you need a book proposal, a 20-50-page document that you can then pitch to literary agents and publishers.
I'm adept at writing proposals that bring out the best elements of your story and can put you in good position to get a traditional book deal.
Note: my rates are approximate and could shift based on your book's specifications, complexity and the time it takes to complete.
I prefer to break up payments into three or four installments, with a large amount (25% or more) of the total cost paid upfront.
Each payment covers a project milestone. The first milestone should involve the foundation, hook and outline development. Milestone two could cover the first 25 percent of the manuscript. Milestone three could involve 50 percent. And milestone four could be the full draft.
When I achieve a milestone to a satisfactory level, payment comes due for the next milestone so the work can continue forward. Such a system provides accountability on both sides. I am properly compensated for work completed, and the author is receiving high-value content.
Project fees can be broken up based on the client's wishes. Some examples:
I prefer up-front payments ahead of monthly engagements for coaching services.
With story development and book proposals, I prefer splitting the costs into two payments, one at the beginning of the engagement and one at the completion of the engagement.
I'm excited to learn more about your book project and explore if we might be a good fit to work together!
